Journal Finder
The aim of this module is to show you how to get the full-text of an
article, whether it is available as online or as a print hard-copy.

If you are anywhere on the
Internet (Google, PubMed, Medline,...) and you find an article of
interest, click on the link to open full-text. If this opens,
then you got what you want! But if the link does not open (or asks for
username and password), then take the name of journal, and check "Journal Finder"
to see if AUB subscribes to this journal or not.
Here you can search alphabetically, by subject, or by words appearing in
the journal title; the results are for both online and printed hard-copy
journals available at all AUB libraries.
 |
Access to online journals is through the IP address and
so it should not ask for a user-name and password,
except for accessing Internet at AUB. However, if it
does ask for username and password, then most probably
you are trying to access an article in a year prior to
the year SML subscribed to it online. |
For example, if you search "Journal Finder" for Lancet, you get:

This means that we subscribe to Lancet as hard copy from V. 1, 1867 up to
now (the word "Print" means that it is available as a print collection at SML
stacks); and also it is available online from ScienceDirect from 1995 up to
present. More information on Journal Finder is available at the
Search Tips.
If a journal is not available, you can ask
SMLReference Librarian ext. 5900 or
5911. to see if we
can get you the article for free or for a fee.
